Accessibility Statement for

This Accessibility Statement applies to

This website is run by Durleigh Parish Council and we want as many people as possible to be able to access and use this website.

Therefore, we have taken steps to check the website complies with the Public Sector Bodies (Websites and Mobile Applications) (no. 2) Accessibility Regulations 2018. For example, that means you should be able to:

  • change colours, contrast levels and fonts
  • zoom in up to 300% without the text spilling off the screen
  • navigate most of the website using just a keyboard
  • navigate most of the website using speech recognition software
  • listen to most of the website using a screen reader (including the most recent versions of JAWS, NVDA and VoiceOver)

We’ve also made the website text as simple as possible to understand.

What We Have Done

We have used the WAVE accessibility checker to identify any errors on the website, based on compliance with Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2.1 AA standard. Those identified have been actioned by the website developer to remove all “Errors”, “Contrast Errors” and most of the “Alerts” to ensure that the website is as accessible as we can make it.

Limitations to the Accessibility of this Website

There are some ‘alerts’ that cannot be removed as they pertain to third party content, such as the Google Maps image.

Documents including Polices, Minutes, Agendas and Financial Reports are uploaded to the website as PDF documents to preserve their integrity. These can be magnified and in the most part should be accessible.

However, if any of the documents attached to the website are found not to be accessible, copies of the original ‘Word’ or ‘Excel’ format documents can be obtained for the Parish Clerk on request. Please email and we will endeavour to provide accessible copies within 5 working days.

We’re always looking to improve the accessibility of this website. If you experience any issues with accessing the website content, that has not already been identified, or think that we are not meeting the Accessibility requirements, please contact:
